We were one of the first manufacturers to work with the Environmental Protection Agency's "Safer Choice" program, a certification we are proud to feature on many of our products. Products with the Safer Choice label help consumers identify and select products with safer chemical ingredients, without sacrificing quality or performance.
To be eligible for the label, our products were subjected to EPA's strict Safer Choice Standard, which is designed with very stringent human health and environmental criteria. The Safer Choice Standard incorporates safer chemical criteria for individual component class ingredients, like surfactants, solvents and chelants.
During evaluation, the EPA does not just prohibit ingredients based on lists of chemicals of concern -- it applies analytical methods developed by the EPA -- in order to compensate for a lack of toxicological data and prevent the use of problematic chemicals that have not made it to a list.
Adding Safer Choice products to your line can help differentiate you from the competition. Major retailers, such as Wal-Mart, Safeway, Home Depot, and Target, have given special status to Safer Choice products. Executive Order 13693 directs federal agencies to select Safer Choice-labeled products whenever possible. Safer Choice is also mandated by many state and municipal purchasers and is included in the LEED EB standard for maintenance in green buildings.

*EPA/Safer Choice recognition does not constitute endorsement of these products. The Safer Choice logo signifies that the products’ formulas, as CA Acquisition has represented it to the EPA, contain ingredients with more positive human health and environmental characteristics than conventional products of the same type. EPA/Safer Choice relies solely on CA Acquisition, its integrity and good faith, for information on the products’ composition, ingredients and attributes. EPA/Safer Choice has not independently identified, that is, via chemical analysis, the ingredients in the products’ formula, nor evaluated any of CA Acquisition's non-ingredient claims. EPA/Safer Choice provides its evaluation only as to the products’ human health and environmental characteristics, as specified in the Standard and based on currently available information and scientific understanding.
